In spite of the tornadoes and massive hail that plagued parts of our fair city yesterday, I feel that Spring is finally in full swing. I’ve even finally planted most of my pots.
I created 14 of the flower arrangement above for a client’s golf tournament dinner. I love the simplicity and freshness of the yellow tulips and key limes.
As I listened to my favorite morning radio show yesterday- Dom and Jane– there was an interesting discussion about what all of us will do now that the TV season has wound down. Oh my, what to do now that Lost and 24 have aired for the last time! I still haven’t seen the last three hours of “24.” I’m waiting for my “24” gal pals to get home from their Mediterranean cruise, so please, no spoiler alerts. One listener called in to say that she’s going to drive around town and read bumper stickers. This doesn’t float my boat, but another listener called in to say that when she was growing up her Mother declared the month of June “Get a Life Month.” I think this is a charming idea!
I’ve enjoyed skipping the health club and taking a turn around the lake instead. Digging in the garden and yard work will substitute nicely for strength training. Dining al fresco on our deck is one of my all time favorite things. We will create wonderful memories playing in the yard with the family and going on picnics.
I will miss Jack Bauer but the delights of life outside are seductive indeed.
Here’s to “getting a life!”
I would love to hear about your plans for “Get a Life Month.”
