“The month of May was come, when every lusty heart beginneth to blossom, and to bring forth fruit;
for like as herbs and trees bring forth fruit and flourish in May, in likewise every lusty heart that is in
any manner a lover, springeth and flourisheth in lusty deeds. For it giveth unto all lovers courage,
that lusty month of May.”

May Day Celebration at National Park Seminary 1907

Apparently May Day has fallen out of favor in America, not that it ever was very popular, being more of a European celebration. I have a friend that celebrates her birthday on the 30th of April. I knew that she of all people would truly  appreciate receiving a May basket. I’ve had it in mind to make some “button” flowers for years. May Day seemed to be the perfect time to finally accomplish this. Check out this charming May Basket that I came up with- well I think it’s charming!
