Gorgeous tulips

There’s something energizing about getting out from behind the computer screen and embarking upon a day of exploration. I’ve been working a lot lately and Spring was about to pass me by.  I spent today exploring possible venues for Destination Create events. This means that yes, I indeed worked today, but I was out and about and the delights of Denver bombarded my senses. For a girl who doesn’t drink coffee I spent a great deal of time checking out coffee houses, but it was the time in my car that was magic. The closer I got to Denver the more Spring had sprung, due to more concrete and asphalt I imagine. I saw magnolia trees gracefully flanking quaint bugalows- who knew? The tulips, grape hyacinths and creeping phlox are gorgeous this year. There were even some lilacs in bloom. How I wanted to catch a waft of their fragrance! And the flowering trees, did I mention those? Simply stunning. My hands itch to dig in the dirt.

Blooming Tulips

I was once again reminded of how much I love Denver. We live in a fabulous city that has so much to offer. Broadway just South of Ellsworth is a spot I need to go back to when I have more time. The shops and restaurants are eclectic and bid one to spend several hours perusing their funky aisles. I did get a chance to finally take a peek inside Fancy Tiger Craft Supplies and Classes. What a fun store! They have colorful fabrics, lovely yarns, boisterous buttons, weaving supplies, sewing notions, wool felt, needle felting supplies and more. They offer loads of great classes as well. I guess the domestic art of sewing is enjoying a renaissance.  I’m tempted to take up sewing again, but I don’t need a fabric stash. I already have a yarn stash! I know quilting is quite the rage as well. I plan to learn needle felting before the year is out.

My goal with this blog is to invite you to explore, learn and share. We will explore creative ideas for living, for crafting and for  beautifying our homes. Because I own a professional organizing service, Come to Order, and a wedding and event planning business,  Exquisite Designs by Cherice, I will be sharing organizing and efficiency ideas as well as wedding, party and entertaining ideas. I will also pass along things I love to do in Denver.

If you live in the Denver area you have the opportunity to attend creative crafting events that I plan. Please join Destination Create and invite your sister friends to join too!. There is no cost to join and no obligation to attend any particular event. We are having such fun getting together to make new friends and create fun projects.

Just as exploring Denver energized me today, creative time recharges my battery as well; it feeds my soul. Creative time needs to be scheduled though or you may never get around to it- I’m just saying…
